Japanese are sure thoughtful people, aren't they?...

What an enlightening evening it was… I was watching my fave show (a Japanese Dorama by the title Beauty of the Beast) at Channel 8… And as usual, there’s nothing better than a Japanese Dorama… Today’s episode was about one of Kuze-san’s family… His wife wanted their daughter to enter Shio Sen, an elite school at any cost… Even if it’s through an illegal way (backdoor)… The daughter, Chihiro, loved her parents very much… To the extend that she had pushed herself to the limit, ignored all that she wanted to do, her friends, and by entering Shio Sen, parting with the guy she loved as well as her friends… But she just kept quiet…

I’m not going to blab about what happen in the story… But what happens in the end, is what urged me to write this… Some parents think that they and only they know what’s bet for their children… They mapped the journey, planned the future, and told their children to obey, without asking whether their children liked it or not… Well, some of you might think that I’m being unfair, since I myself a bachelor… But does being a parent grants you the privilege of being right all the time?... Being a parent, there are times when the children will have to follow what they said… But, there are also times when the parents themselves have to agree to what their children have to say… Although it is an unopposed fact that a child must agree to his parent’s wisdom… Talking about wisdom, what is wisdom actually?... Is it the ones we learn from school?... No… those are knowledge… Wisdom comes from experience, and also by being able to differentiate between what’s right or wrong… In other words, wisdom does not necessarily come with age… Okashii na, the usually silly Shinnoir talking about wisdom and all… I guess there’s more than the usual yancha neko than meets the eye :3…

I guess the same case applies to what’s happening in Aiko’s family… And maybe in some of my friends’ families… It did happen in my family once; fortunately my mum is willing to let me deal with my life on my own… And I wish that someday, Aiko’s parents will realize that, and let her deal with her life, interfering only when she gets over the edge… Isn’t that what parents should do, when their children can think for themselves?...
